MALUNGON, Sarangani (August 22, 2008) – Local women (background with baskets) harvest upland rice Friday, August 22, together with government workers under the Indigenous People's Development Program of Governor Migs Dominguez in sitio Lamlifew, barangay Datal Tampal in Malungon. The governor's special project in preserving the culture and tradition of indigenous people in Sarangani includes the planting of traditional rice varieties which not only give a high yield, but are also disease resistant, glutinous, and very tasty.
